- Taiwan Hackathon organizer: 2007
- ELUTE: 2006-2007
- OpenVanilla: 2004-2007
- This is a generic framework of input methods with some implementations, such as Taiwanese input method in POJ (a writing system based on roman alphabets) called OVPOJ. It is a cross-platform input method framework that supports Mac OS X, Linux (based on SCIM bridge) and Windows.
- OVPOJ is able to input diacritics by common U.S. keyboard layout, it might be also useful to any other language which needs diacritics.
- OpenFoundry FreeBSD ports testing: 2004
- OpenFoundry is a project management system based on RT, Kwiki, Subversion, SVK, and Sympa.
- zh_TW PO of Drupal: 2004
- TWOCW Project: 2004
- This is a project of translating MIT OCW contents from English to Chinese. We are working on a peer review system based on mediawiki.
- OOPS slide
- This project also uses a computer-aided translation system, TotalRecall.
- GOING input method on win32: 2003-present
- GOING (自然輸入法, "Natural Input Method") is the most famous "intelligent input method" in Taiwan. It is invented by Prof. Wen-Lien Hsu. It is an utility for inputting Chinese by syllables. Because of characteristic of "Hanji" in Eastern Asia, input method is very important to the localized version of OSes.
- Technology transfer to IQ Technology
- WalkingBook: 2003
- This is a localized implementation inspired by BookCrossing, currently it is based on the system of Distributed Library Project.
- Intelligent Naming System: 2001-2002
- This is an Internet address naming system in Chinese, it is more flexible than IDN (Internationalization Domain Name) because it tries to resolve URLs from natural languages. For example, use "Aspiration Tech" instead of "http://aspirationtech.org/" surfing web by browser. People may ask is this different to search engine? Actually "naming" and "searching" have an important difference. "Naming" is a query about many-to-one relations, but "searching" is a query about one-to-many relations. That is, we may name something in many ways, but we may search different things by the same keyword. Since this work is focused on Chinese named entities that used in WWW, there are a lot of localization issues on browser implementation and IETF standards.
